Casati lived her art 24/7 in a time when any woman who even so much as wore make-up was almost strung up. Doubt very much that more than fifty years after she’s dead that Gaga will be inspiring future fashion designers of the caliber of Galliano and Lagerfeld. Or have such a great book published about her portraits, her icon status, or her place in history as a muse.
